Alabama Winds is an all-adult community wind band based in Alabaster, Alabama. Founded in 2013, the ensemble is composed primarily of music educators from across the state, with members traveling from various regions to participate in performances. The group is dedicated to delivering high-quality wind band music to audiences in Alabama through its annual concert series, typically held in December and May.
As part of its mission to foster a deep appreciation for wind band music, Alabama Winds also supports young musicians by providing scholarships for middle and high school students to attend summer music camps. Additionally, the ensemble offers a one-time $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior pursuing a degree in music education.
